- Electronic Controller– Something unheard of in the aquaponics community, we design and build our controllers from scratch, we have many different features and are constantly experimenting to add more functionality.
- Safety Features– We have sensors that detect when the water is getting low in your fish tank that will stop the pump and sound an alarm if the water gets dangerously low for the fish, and can even automatically fill the tank for you. A catastrophic failure can happen in minutes, resulting in the loss of all of your fish, this is just one of the features we have to help prevent those failures.
- Expandability– Our controllers allow the filling and draining of multiple individual beds, or strings of beds, which means you can have more grow bed space without having to flood all of your grow beds at once, resulting in the need for very large fish and sump tanks. In larger commercial operations, the controllers can be linked together to communicate and work in unison to control several hundred grow beds.
- Energy Efficiency- Since our test facility is completely off the grid, low power consumption is especially important to us because we simply don`t have the power available to plug in 400 watt pumps, because of this all of our components use the absolute minimum amount of electricity possible.
- External Siphon- Rather than using a bell siphon which can lead to problem after problem, we use an external siphon that is more reliable and allows for easier maintenance.
Easy Maintenance- With the siphon on the outside of the bed, there is no worry of grow media clogging it up, and it is super easy to access if you ever suspect there is a problem. Our sensor that allows the controller to know when the bed is draining is easy to access and clean, taking less than a minute to clean each sensor!- More Reliable- The whole siphon is sealed up, so nothing can fall in or move around, ensuring your system stays running without any of the problems caused by the common bell siphons.
- More Grow Area- Bell siphons result in a loss of up to 28 square inches of grow space per bed, with several hundred individual beds, that adds up to a lot of valuable grow space lost.
- Fewer Siphons- Since we connect up to 16 beds to each siphon, you can have a 128 bed system with only 8 siphons, this means lower cost to build, lower cost of maintenance, and fewer things to go wrong.
