At AFTAZ Growing Systems, our vision is to see a change in the way food is grown to an efficient and sustainable manner. We will be the best provider in the aquaponic industry with our exceptional customer service and environmentally sustainable growing systems.
How did we get started?
We have been growing food in the desert for over 10 years as Desert Bloom Eco Farm, As we expanded our gardens we realized we needed to find a more efficient and sustainable way of growing our food. We began looking at different options to solve our problem and in 2012 we built a new greenhouse for our first aquaponic system. Following online tutorials and instructional dvds we pieced together a system using IBC tanks for the grow beds and fish tanks. During this process we found that the current aquaponic system designs simply weren’t meant to be used on a large scale and our first attempt gave us the opportunity to design a better system. With the designs that were out, there wasn’t a way to control the filling of the grow beds, so all of the grow beds could fill at once almost draining the fish tanks.
This is how Aftaz Growing Systems LLC was formed. We began experimenting with different siphon designs and grow bed setups. We developed and built controllers to automate the filling of the grow beds. We wanted to created a system that was easy to operate. From there we decided to incorporate the automation designs to improve the efficiency of larger systems. Our state of the art controllers automatically control the filling and draining of each grow bed, and with safety features built in to reduce the need for inspection. With our new designs we can expand the system to fill any space, from a small 16 bed system, to an industrial 128 bed system.
Where are we today?
Our gardens and aquaponic greenhouse are still in production. Our produce is sold to individuals and restaurants in the Las Vegas area, Our farm is called Desert Bloom Eco Farm, visit us there on the web at desertbloom.farm. We manufacture all of our aquaponics systems by hand and on site.
